The British Furniture Manufacturers has announced plans to re-locate its office from Long Eaton to Bloxham Mill in Oxfordshire.

The new office is 10 minutes from Banbury with fast trains to Birmingham and London and is a good central base to access members and suppliers across the UK.

The move concludes a project to develop a virtual workplace solution following a review and modernisation of operations by recently appointed Managing Director, Nick Garratt. Internal administration processes have been improved with the introduction of a cloud-based, document management system. These changes have enabled the business to operate without the need for a permanent, physical office space. Although the team will work remotely, the new office has a central switchboard answering service to maintain good communication between BFM and its members. This virtual workplace solution enables the team to be located in any location which will open up the available talent base for the organisation to grow its range of services in the future.

Nick Garratt commented ‘Although BFM is not a manufacturing business, productivity is crucial to any organisation and moving to a virtual workplace has been part of a drive to streamline systems, decrease costs and improve efficiency. This will help us to create a platform to focus our resources on improving the service we deliver to our members. Furthermore, we are doing our bit for the environment by reducing our carbon footprint through reduced travel and use of paper!’
The move is planned to take place 1st August 2019.
