 New recruits join the BFM Board

Two new members have been elected to the Board of BFM.  Paul James (left) of One-Call Furniture and Ian Peers (right) of Ercol have joined the team, with a commitment to putting the nation’s manufacturing on the map.

This includes a focus on enhanced communications, greater engagement with members and the development of new opportunities to promote the value of British-made furniture to consumer audiences.

Paul said: “I am extremely keen to promote the ‘Made In Britain’ message and to highlight the fact that we can manufacture well designed, high quality and, importantly, affordable furniture in this country.

“Main objectives include raising awareness of BFM and the comprehensive benefits it offers to members and to work as part of the Board to drive forward initiatives to encourage young people to seek training and employment within the furniture sector.”

Ian added: “I have joined the Board because I’m passionate about UK manufacturing.

“I believe that industry bodies such as the BFM can play a key role in helping manufacturers in their sector to be successful.”

A Buckinghamshire-based director has been elected to a key role within a national trade body.

Ian Peers, operations director at Ercol, of Princes Risborough, has joined the 12-strong team of the Board of British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM).

The association has represented the interests of the nation’s furniture manufacturing sector for more than 65 years, providing effective representation and a range of appropriate services that embrace the needs and add value for its members.

Ian said: “I have joined the BFM Board because I’m passionate about UK manufacturing.

“I believe that industry bodies such as the BFM can play a key role in helping manufacturers in their sector to be successful.”
