The name of Charles Barr dates back to the 1860’s and originates from the parish of Shoreditch in London. Today the company has two factories located in Wroxham, Norfolk and Sandy Bedfordshire. We remain loyal to the principles originally established by our founder Charles Barr and retain a wholehearted commitment to the use of hand craftsmanship and traditional methods no matter how painstaking and time consuming they may be. To these methods we have added the best of modern technology and innovations ensuring that our furniture is even stronger than the original, more tolerant of changes in heat and humidity and no longer the exclusive preserve of the very wealthy.

Our extensive collection of furniture, which comprises of five ranges produced in Mahogany, Yew wood, Olive Ash, Traditional Cherry and Rustic Cherry is sold throughout the UK and to many overseas locations primarily to better quality independent retail outlets. As well as our standard range of furniture we also specialise in the production of bespoke pieces that can be made to your own specification and a full design service is available for such furniture that could be made individually or to suit contract use for boardrooms, dining rooms and hotel bedrooms etc.
