The EMIR brand benches for woodwork and metalwork feature a wide range of sizes and options with matching tool cupboards. The worktable illustrated is a Design Centre award winner in the DfES project "School Furniture for the Future". The brief was to produce furniture that would contribute to the process of learning - in this case for the Craft and Technology departments of secondary schools. Based on the EMIR multi-material work bench, the design adds colour and brightness to drab workshops and gives the practical benefits of height adjustability, built-in power port and measurement aids. Stools slide away beneath the work top and there is space and hooks for students' belongings. The stools (pat.) are ergonomically designed with foot rails at 4 heights to suit pupils of different stature. Size 120 x 120 x 90, 95, or 100cm. Light vices can be attached and a junior version (without stools) 75 - 95cm high is available. Finish clear lacquer. Work Bench Range EMIR benches for training, craft and industry are built to order in a variety of sizes and patterns from interchangeable components and optionally fitted with cupboards and vices for woodwork, metalwork etc. There are single, dual and 4-place versions particularly for school workshop furnishing. The construction is from heavy section beech with tenoned and drawbolted joints ensuring rigidity in arduous conditions. Wood is kind to work on and is noise and vibration absorbent. Sizes from 90 - 180cm, upto 300cm to special order. Finish sealed. Cupboards Cupboards with solid steamed beech edges match the bench range and have a grey tambour shutter with lock. The mid-height shelf is fixed and the number of adjustable shelves is optional. The shelves have a raised lip on one face for containment and are cantable for leaflet display or may be turned over flat. Originally designed for tool and consumables storage there is a variety of boxes and fitments to suit this application. Size 180 x 40 x 90 or 120cm wide. There is a 100 x 60 x 20cm matching wall cabinet supplied with 2 adjustable shelves. The cupboards are mastered keyed to the EMIR bench range. Finish clear lacquer. |
