New environmental plaudit for Morgan Contract Furniture

BFM member Morgan Contract Furniture has won another environmental award being nominated the 2008 Chichester District Council Green Business of the Year. The judges recognised the wide range of waste management initiatives that have been successfully incorporated at Morgan such as wood-burning boilers providing space heating for the factory fuelled by offcuts from the manufacturing process.

The award is the latest in a string of ‘green' successes achieved by the company in just the last seven months. Rodney McMahon, Managing Director of Morgan Contract Furniture, comments “It's easy to talk the talk when it comes to green issues, so we hope that our record speaks for itself in demonstrating that lean and green are core to our philosophy at Morgan and intrinsic to the way in which we conduct our business every day and touching every aspect of what we do”.

Rodney added ‘I'm delighted that the award included a cheque for £4,000 from Chichester Council and a staff team-building day at the Sussex Wildlife Trust as a reward for the team's hard work and commitment. Green and efficient business practises have to be embraced by every single team member in order to achieve our level of success.”
