New Guide to the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations

 

The British Furniture Confederation, of which the BFM is a leading member, has launched an important new Guide to the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations.  The Guide was launched on 18 th May 2009 at Furniture Makers' Hall in London, where a capacity crowd attended from all sectors of the industry.  The Guide covers the flammability requirements for all upholstered domestic products including sofas, armchairs, beds, mattresses, mattress toppers and some outdoor furniture.  It provides comprehensive advice on the requirements for manufacturers of fabrics and foams as well as the manufacturer or retailer of the final product.
