Bespoke Fitted and Free-Standing Furniture
We design and install beautiful hand-crafted furniture which is prepared in the rural workshop of Alan Cooper in Ford Village near Aylesbury. We offer our bespoke bedrooms roughly within a 25 mile radius of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
We have developed many designs over the years, which your bedroom or other furniture project can also be based upon, but also have the capability to start from scratch, and can use our CAD modelling software to design in 3d, effectively visualising and increasing accuracy to compliment Alan’s traditional craftsmanship.
The main material we use is Oak, carefully arranged to show it at its best. As well as European and American oak, we can also source slowly air dried timber sourced from local estates. A variety of other timbers are available. For a paint finish, we normally recommend medium density fibreboard, and pine, poplar or beech for load-bearing shelves.
We use a unique frame construction for the majority of the wardrobe frames, including mortise and tenon joints and traditional brass butt and wrought iron hinges to ensure lifelong structural strength.
We prefer to manufacture everything ourselves, including the doors to maintain continuity.
About Alan Cooper.the director...
Alan, qualified as a furniture designer and maker in 1984 at Rycotewood College in Thame. After several years gaining further experience with a local cottage furniture and joinery company, he set up business on his own in 1993 in his first workshop in Fleet Marston near Waddesdon. He now shares a larger workshop with 2 other craftsmen just outside Aylesbury.
We normally make arranged visits to our local customers’ homes to discuss their furniture requirements. Our furniture is all made to order, and being a very small business, we do not have a showroom at present.
