UK furniture makers' costs exceed 20% in August
It will not come as a surprise to UK furniture manufacturers that the latest August figure for material and fuel costs show an increase on the same month a year ago, of 20.7%, up from + 16.6% in July.
Looking at the same period, the retail prices of all furniture increased by 8%, up from 6.9% the previous month. Retail sales values were up by 13.4% on August 2020. The July figure showed an improvement of 15.3%.
