UK furniture makers’ turnover and orders at record level
In September, the total value of turnover and orders for UK furniture manufacturers reached £901.6 million, up 13.3% on August and 30.8% on September 2021. This is according to the Office of National Statistics. Over, the first three-quarters of this year, the value was recorded at £6.6 billion, up 27.8% on the same period last year. The September figure also represents a higher value than any other month since the series began in 1998.
Note: these figures look at total turnover and orders in the furniture manufacturing industry. ‘Total’ is the important word as the turnover figure includes most items that contribute to a company’s turnover, including for example the sale of products manufactured by sub-contractors or invoiced services.
