UK furniture makers turnover and orders strong in May

Published 13 July 2022 - UK furniture production was up by 16.6% in May compared to that month last year and just 1.1% down on the same month in pre-pandemic 2019.

However, total monthly turnover and orders (includes other income on top of production) was recorded by the Office of National Statistics at £901 million for the month of May, up from £837 million in April.  The May figure is 33% up on the month of May in 2021 and nearly 10% up on May 2019. These figures include retail and contract furniture.
