The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) was established on Valentine’s Day in 1947, by people across the sector with a passion for quality, safety, comfort and professionalism.

The members originally came from regional clusters – areas of the country with a strong history of manufacturing in their locality including High Wycombe.

Fast forward through the decades to today and the BFM still supports the same high values and standards in British manufacturing.

Run by members, for members and the wider industry, we represent businesses across every part of the UK, operating in a broad area of manufacturing, including upholstery, cabinet, bathroom, kitchen, and office furniture, and mattresses and beds.

From rural craftspeople, through to household-names like G Plan, Parker Knoll and Ercol,  BFM has provided a channel for our nation’s furniture makers to showcase the best of British, that has stood the test of time.
